Banned - august

@cedde, please consider the reality that I'm not hacking. Never will you see blatant snaps, spasms, or anything from my end.

Your servers are great; like others have said, it's the only alive SvS server out there, which is why I'm so adamant on being able to play on your servers. If I didn't care, I wouldn't be trying this hard to get unbanned.

I'm pretty sure vlad himself played on your servers at one point. I'm really confused as to how I'm being singled out as a hacker here.
 
We will wait for more feedback. @Cats probably.
 
In the mean time we highly advised to forget Sz and search for better server. It may take a while :cool:

I know it's different. I'm a retired HL plat sniper and retired invite player.

As far as HL goes skill wise, sniper is way more respected than spy is. So i still think it's weird that you refuse to play sniper in HL simply because you started out as a spy when it's just as easy to switch over.

But anyway, we are still looking into it like Cedde said and get back to you.

Sounds good. Yeah I've never really thought about maining the class.
 
Hey all. It's been about two weeks since we've last talked.

Another thought just popped up recently that may help show you that I'm legitimate -- consistency on TF2 Player Rankings. TF2PR aggregates a player's performance in all logged matches, games, and pugs. When looking at a hacker, their statistics are all over the place, because they rely on cheats for skill, and therefore are inconsistent with their history of playing.

Check out Kev's stats, a sniper who demolished during S18, then fell off a cliff after getting banned. His stats exploded near April, got banned, and hasn't played since.

Or check out Vlad, the top Platinum sniper who got banned in S19 preseason. He explained that he was offered cheats by a spy named Flare, and recalled his reaction was 'It's a perfect way to instantly become better. What sniper wouldn't jump at the chance?' It's easy to see his adaptation of hacks, and his change in ability through kill count.

And then me. I haven't been league banned, nor VAC banned in the past vac waves (including the one yesterday), and it's easy to see the progression of skill has been unchanged. Here's my statistics. Note that I've played much fewer games as sniper than the other two, so deviation will look more extreme.

If you want hard evidence that I don't hack, unban me, add me, and ask me to snipe. I'll record a demo and send it to you. Bam. No server stutter, spectator lag, jittery snaps, and you'll be able to see that I don't use hacking snaps or whatever.

If you want anecdotal evidence I don't hack, feel free to talk to any sniper that I've played with a lot on SZ, such as wew, timsh0t, aeon, that_asian_kid, shortydog, whitestripez, darth doggy, stevo, jah booty, dilemma, wile, etcetcetc
 
I just wanted to share my opinion on this player, since I don't quite understand why he was banned. I have played with August multiple times on not only on snipezilla, but in lobbies and on skial too and not once have I even suspected him of hacking. He seems very willing to provide you more evidence to show that he isn't cheating, so why not at least look at that. Personally I think that he is just a great player not only as sniper, but at most of the classes in the game. I hope that you guys can figure out something and unban him if he is really legit or keep him banned if he isn't.

Hm since I've been named I guess I'll share my opinion. I've seen august around sz a good bit, and he is very good. From constantly playing with him I don't think he's cheating, but some movement on his screen is a little suspicious from spectate. So I do see why the admins are interested. However it is true he's still here after the ban waves and hasn't been detected on a place like skial or as stevo said lobbies. And he's appealing to be unbanned. However I have no hard evidence either way, so my opinion is simply an opinion. My hope remains as to what stevo said: I hope the admins will figure it out and either keep the ban if you aren't legit or get you unbanned if you are.
 
Looks like cedde was the one that unbanned you. seems he was paying attention to this thread after all :p
