There's not much I can explain, so I don't expect anyone to unban me. I'm a platinum spy who likes to blow off steam as sniper. I racked up ~40,000 points on your server over thousands of headshots. I don't know if an admin banned me, or if it was an autodetect. I didn't get any warning. I don't have any demos, as I don't main sniper during comp matches and scrims.

Ha, that's funny. I definitely don't think you cheat from my games with you. I'm thinking it was someone who's never seen you before and noticed your VAC ban on your record. Wait a little longer. I'm sure it will be sorted out.

for future note, even if a debatable or fixable ban like this, do not ever change your name to some stupid thing like that again. i could care less about one less player, you just appear toxic. not saying you are.. and im way buzzed right now, but damn... uber disrespectful, especially while appealing the ban. No one is fighting the ban so it must be in error.
 
He has a VAC. I would have ask more details to Anderson before any lift.

What do you have a VAC ban for?
 
Guys his vac ban is from over 5 years ago. I would say let it slide unless Anderson gives us a reason not to.

Sorry for the late reply. The reason he got banned is following.
  • It's not because of his VAC ban. I only noticed it afterwards.
  • It's not because of aimbot, I picked that because there was no proper choice for his hack.
  • Both mixup and I spec'ed him and notice something weird. When we watch other people the screen action is smooth, it pans left or right but smooth movement. When we watched him, when he shot people, the action is odd, it's like a quick jerk. Now, I know it could be someone flick their mouse. People like me who has 0.25 sen will flick in order to hit someone. But he is doing it while shooting through the cracks in the middle of the Orange map. You know the tiny spaces that we usually hard scope.
  • The second reason which leads me to believe he is hacking is. When face to face, he is not hard to deal with. I nailed him multiple times. Yet he is scoring better than sadFace who was on the same team with him. Now, I am not the best sniper around, but I have played against many of the best and something doesn't add up for this guy.
Do I know for certain like 100% sure that he is hacking? No. It wasn't an obvious aimbot case. But I was certain there was triggerbot or some new form of hacking going on, which is why I banned him.

To give him benefit of the doubt, if we have other reputable players vouch for him, then I am willing to lift the ban.

Mhmm, interesting.

I've personally only played August once, also on an Orange map, and nothing inparticular stood out. Can't say I didn't miss something though...

Though regarding the first reason: When his aim jerked elsewhere, was it onto moving or stationary targets? How fast was the odd jerk? (was it noticeable or as fast as the flash?) And were there any incidents where his aim precisely followed a head, even if only for a short moment?

Just want to get a better picture of the events, if you don't mind.
 
Yeah so the odd movement was his cross-hair becomes really choppy and stuttery (mixup's word) when he is aiming through the small open space from behind the buildings, like it's looking for target. And when someone moves across that small opening, he will get shot. Many snipers move behind those buildings in the middle by the bridge, trying to hit people through those small openings but other's cross-hair movement isn't like that. Of course, just because his cross-hair movement is different that alone doesn't mean a thing, but combine with how he consistently hits people moving across those openings, which we all know how hard that is. But maybe he IS that good.

I was watching with Anderson. His aim while zoomed in would get real stuttery while trying to lock onto the head when people were behind walls. When in the open there was no stutter effect. Could have been from his mouse on low sense and the spectator lag. But when i viewed other people playing on the server and from other good snipers i've spectated before, none would have that jittery effect. I just thought it was suspicious. Can't be for sure without a demo.

To some of the other comments from the other admins. Just because the VAC was from years ago doesn't mean someone wouldn't do it again. That wasn't the reason for the ban, that just helped with the suspicion. The guy just said he wasn't a sniper man and he's a spy main, but he's on the server top scoring over everyone else including sad face by over 50 points... I played in a sniper tournament 2v2 with Corsa against 1 guy who played in platinum and the other in gold who used hacks against us because they wanted to win so badly. So people will be people and cheating is always a possibility. Next time i'll get a demo of him playing and go from there.

Last thought. I know this wasn't that big of a deal or random act of admin abuse. But i just wanted to make it clear what happened for me and Anderson. One of our duties is to help keep the community fun and clean for all the players. I just told Anderson i feel like this guy might be cheating his aim is kind of weird. He decided to go through with it. I said well, if he wasn't hacking he can submit a request on the forums to be on the safe side and possibly a demo if need be.
 
i believe this was a fine example of a good system test; suspected hacker, banned, and has been appealed. Shows we just needed a demo. From now on we should record things like this, if your not 100% the second you see them.... record... shoot record anyways. Skips these situations.

No worries, nobody is accusing either of you of admin abuse. It's just hard to have a solid verdict when somebody has been playing the server for 40+ hours, but has never been picked up by the automatic detection system or by another admin.

Though as doc suggested, try and take a demo when uncertain.

I personally don't trust spec or STVs at all; I know friends who have been banned from STVs elsewhere and it causes shitstorms every time. STV/spec footage of sniping is just so blatantly inaccurate. But, since you're seeing stutters, I can understand your suspicion. I'd be happy to record a demo sometime soon.

Just know that I have exactly zero incentive to hack --
  • I'm a consistent competitive player in UGC platinum, and I don't even main sniper. I don't want to bring in my competitive friends to 'vouch' for me, as they're obviously going to side with me. Your opinion matters here.
  • I don't try to prove myself -- I simply hop in and snipe. I never flaunt, bm, or even talk. @Mixup, I believe you when you talk about self-interested gold snipers who hack to look good. I'm not one of them.
  • My backpack is worth nearly two grand, and I just dropped some keys on a prof machina. Not exactly an account I'm comfortable hacking on.
With all that said, that doesn't guarantee anything. The lmaobox premium vac wave took out players with 5k inventories and the (touted) best sniper in the entire game at the time. So it's just up to your trust.

I think it'd be a shame if you kept the ban. I trust myself because I know I'm legit, but I have to prove myself regardless.

If anyone feels like they want demos, add me and let's plan on a time where I can prec a demo, and you can record through spec. Maybe that will give us a better picture of what's going on.

If you are this good at sniper, why are you main spy in plat then? And who was the " touted " best sniper that got banned?
 
Here's a quick lobby I played. Other sniper was Yipyapper, also a platinum player. Our stats are identical; he outfragged by 5, I outsniped 8/5. My team had possession about 40% of the time.

Nobody ever mentions things out of the ordinary against me. I understand admins are trying to comprehend my shots with hacks, but frankly the closest I've gotten to a legitimate accusation is 'He flicks players consistently through buildings.'

I will snipe far into the future without getting autodetected, VAC'd, or league banned for hacking. I know too well the stakes against hacking, especially in an environment where comp players will happily pile on death threats to banned players without a moment of hesitation.

I hope you consider the possibility that I'm not hacking in the slightest.
 
Many have watched a demo of your performance while sniping.
Please enjoy valve or skial server, snipezilla is just garbage :D after all
