I think I added the wrong doggy in that converstaion doggy will add correctly after this post.

In response to Dope.....sorry about the adminship. We/I are not trying to be "that guy" but we just cleaning out the closet on who should be admin and who shouldn't. We are not saying that you are not admin material it is just people that we gave adminship to we never really hear from or see and now that we are removing adminships they are showing up......so now we are at the point of seeing who is still gonna hang around.

I get it, JD. There's just no more love for Dope... just none left to give :(.

On a serious note, I get it. You guys require active admins. In my case external factors such as work and traveling came into play. As always, real life comes before video games.

Just be aware of removing too many admins resulting in a skeleton crew. I've recently been on the server on 3 separate occasions where there was a hacker and no admins online to help out.

I feel like keeping the admins that were good at what they did would have been a better decision rather than taking away admin from people who weren't online due to things going on but hey that's my opinion on the matter.
 
The initial intention, in my opinion, was to give admins a wake-up call. It's not healthy if a battleship is seperated from the mothership, as tactics end up lying in the hands of one instead of the collective. And this exact scenario was already being exhibited (and not just once). So forgive us if this whole scenario comes across as rude or threatening to you personally, but skepticism was kind of a necessity. Anyways, it is being discussed.

Quite honestly I am not surprised that this happened. The issue here isn't the fact that you have too many admins (as some have stated), nor is it indicative of having absent ones. The issue is due to the fact that some individuals cannot handle the responsibility that comes with the admin title. There are guidelines that must be followed within any role and possessing admin powers are no different. Ultimately it doesn't give you free reign to ban anyone you want for whatever reason you see fit.

Speaking personally now, I think I've perma-banned roughly 5 people all of which were, after spectating, blatantly aim-botting. In my opinion, this deserves a permanent ban every time as it is not only easy to prove via spectating, but it is also the most detrimental exploit to the overall gaming experience. Wall hacking also deserves a perma-ban, nevertheless it's a lot harder to prove , can't be done simply by spectating and is extremely subjective (which is why I have always left it alone). Every other offense should be temporary. Having an abusive admin is, in my opinion, worse than being in a server with a hacker.

Going forward now, my suggestion would be to review the list of admins, remove the abusive ones and leave everyone else. There is absolutely no maintenance in having a list of great admins that aren't always on (you set it and forget it).

Something important to also keep in mind is that indefinite admin absence doesn't translate into poor performance or abuse when they have time to play; nor does the absence skew their knowledge of the guidelines. Let action, rather than inaction, decide the fate of the admins.
 
I wasn't ever even allowed to ban or kick people cause I never received full admin. All I could do was change the map, do a map vote, identify a player and mute/gag people. So this whole thing doesn't even affect me that much. Although I would love to try to get full admin so long as my points have nothing to do with me getting it since that's what prevented me from getting it last time.

He gets my vote. Half because his post makes a lot of sense. Half because the guy in his profile picture looks like he's about to murder me in my sleep.
 
A fresh start is always good anyway. Competent and mature admins is a given. If the people feel like an admin is being abusive, I'm sure they would find a way to make it known and we can handle it from there as we have with a couple people already.

You could have 5 or 10 admins. That's not to say you'll always have help when you need it. I've been on at like 3am and had no admins to help. That's just how it goes. But I do believe that if you aren't active in game much that you shouldn't have admin.
