I was wondering if anyone knows of any good ways to do offline sniping practice? Are there any maps other than tr_walkway that would be good for that? Especially if there are any maps designed specifically for snipers.

I'm probably going to do a 6 month trip across south-east Asia early next year (if Ebola isn't some major issue) and I think internet access will suck there or be non-existent but I'd still like to get occasional sniping practice...maybe 20 min a day on bots just to maintain some muscle memory.

hey dude, i can tell you that having a vacation of tf2 is very good, so having a rest will charge up your skill, so don't be afraid to stop playing.
PD: i don't know many maps to practice. some idle servers may work i think.

There used to be a map with two sniper buildings and a battle field full of bots fighting each other, but no idea where that went to.
Though Magnus is right. I took a year break and came back stronger than before. You'd need to stop playing for a while for any form of muscle memory to suffer, unless you find something to replace it with =P

Try this one http://tf2.gamebanana.com/maps/104304

tr_aim is a great map to practice on. Its essentially 6 lanes with different types of bots constantly moving randomly.

tr_walkway is also another nice one, but its not as high of a skill level training, but its extremely customizable.

tr_arena_rc1 is probably my favorite, its just as customizable as tr_walkway, but its much much harder as well.

Google for the maps, they're really good for training.

Muscle memory, reflexes, mental picture of map and surroundings updated in your head constantly, knowing your opponents habits, and understanding hit boxes. Understanding how your opponent is beating you is also crucial to learning and also adapting.

Offline practice will not really help with sniper.

Ya but learning to follow targets is still a good practice.

Not bots...they run aneven straight line all the time.. That is like testing rating a car on its crash performance when running into a flat wall.........(almost never happens)

Don't worry about it Zex it will come back to you in like 3 days when you start playing again.......unless there is another weird update...
